I’ve blogged for about three years now, ever since J was born. This blog is a more recent venture, and ever since I started it I’ve been really interested in finding ways to improve it. I’ve come across some great sites while searching for resources, and I thought today I’d share five of my favorites in hopes that these will be as helpful to you as they have been to me. If you’re not a blogger, you still might really enjoy some of these – especially this first one.
• abstractfonts.com: If you like typography at all be prepared to spend a lot of time on this site! The fonts here are all free (can’t beat that!) and are organized by category, making it easier to find what you want. You can even type desired text to preview what it would look like in the different fonts. That’s where I found the typeface for “frugal” in my header.
• istockphoto.com: This is a great source for photos and illustrations. These are not free, but if you know anything about the cost of stock images you’ll know that the prices here are incredibly reasonable. Plus, if you’re using the images for web use only you can get away with purchasing the smallest size option, making your cost just a couple of dollars. I haven’t actually used this for my blog – I take all my own photos – but I use this all the time for work and love it.
• getclicky.com: This is a statistics site, much like Google Analytics. I actually like Clicky better – it breaks down information really specifically about your visitors, and it tracks in real time so you don’t have to wait until midnight to get a report for the day.
• mombloggersclub.com: This is obviously confined to a niche of bloggers, but there are a lot of you mom bloggers out there – and if you are one, you should visit this site. It’s a great resource for networking, but I also picked up a lot of tips here.
• problogger.net: If you’ve been blogging for any length of time you’ve probably already come across this site, but I just discovered it a month ago and have to share it in case you haven’t seen it yet. This site is filled with invaluable blogging resources, from ideas for posts to monetizing your blog. I signed up for the 31 day challenge and received an email each day for a month with suggestions for improving my blog. Note: The challenge took place in 2009, but I still received the emails each day.

Thanks for following! I hope the links really are helpful!
Thank you for the resources you named above. Awhile ago, I downloaded inkscape for making my header. I also like it because I can easily add a watermark to my photos.
