Bright Starts Pretty in Pink – Breast Cancer Awareness Month

If you’re looking for a cute baby toy anytime soon, you can find one that is adorable AND helps support breast cancer research! Bright Starts developed “Pretty in Pink”, a collection of toys and gear for which a portion of every sale goes straight to breast cancer awareness.

For only $3.99, Pretty in Pink Chime Along Friends are a fun toy to entertain infants – like the name implies, when you shake them you hear a melodious chiming. The colorful toys have soft textures and a easy-grip clip that attaches to almost anything.

I got a chance to receive and review one of the Chime Along friends – the little bird.

I love the combination of bright pinks with the striped pattern on the legs and the dotted pattern on the feet and chime! Plus, from experience with my two boys I know those wings are perfect for little mouths to chew on. :)

I’m planning to get one of these for my friend’s upcoming baby shower – I can add something cute to the gift AND know that I’m helping a good cause at the same time! There’s a lot of other Pretty in Pink gear available, too – from other toys, to play mats, to Bounce-A-Bouts! You can see more of the selection available at the Bright Starts website.

Note: I received a Chime Along Friend for review, but any opinions are honest and are my own.

CSN Stores Review

Those of you that have read my blog for any amount of time have heard of CSN Stores before. They’ve got 200 online stores, providing almost anything you could even think of buying at just the click of your mouse. From couches to dining room chairs to toys to kitchen utensils, you’ll find it at one of the CSN Stores.

Speaking of dining room chairs, I think I might be in love with these…

I’m actually going to be doing another review of a CSN Stores product soon, although I’m still deciding what to review – there’s so much to pick from that it’s taking me a while!

Menu Plan Monday Update – Spaghetti & Meatballs

I’m slowly but surely making my way through the five Food on the Table recipes. When I first planned, I definitely didn’t account for leftovers or having meals at friends’ houses! Last night I made the meatballs and paired them with whole wheat spaghetti & green beans. We really liked them a lot. They were tender and full of flavor! I tried making them on the stovetop but I think next time I’ll try baking them. I was so impatient to get them cooked all together that I overcrowded the skillet a little, but it all ended up just fine. :) Here’s my best attempt at getting a photo of them for you:

Menu Plan Monday & a GIVEAWAY!

Menu Plan Monday

Hi, everyone! Well, my grand plans to try all the Food on the Table recipes faltered because a) I didn’t count on how much we’d have leftover… and I can’t let leftovers go to waste, and b) we had some nice friends ask us over for dinner Thursday… and I can’t say no to dinner! :)

So, this week is really just a continuation of trying those recipes, and I am still planning to write a little review and post photos of each recipe we try. You can go back to that post to see FIVE, count ’em, five, recipes that you can try too if you’d like.

To make up for not really having any new content for my MPM this week, I’m hosting a giveaway!

This is an absolutely adorable cookbook filled with fun ideas for fall baking – and it includes some recipes from Bakerella, whose blog I always love reading (and whose cake balls are featured on the cover!) that would be great for a party. I received this book for being part of a focus group to pick the cover and figured I’d share it with y’all instead of keeping it for myself.

Win It

The winner will receive one copy of the Betty Crocker Fall Baking cookbook, which sells for $7.00 on their site. This is open to all U.S. and Canadian residents. Since I want to make sure you get this in time to actually use it for the fall, this is a short-lived giveaway. I’ll be picking a winner Thursday morning, so entries will be accepted until midnight CST on Wednesday, October 20.

How To Enter

Mandatory Entry: Subscribe to my RSS feed and comment letting me know you’ve done so. If you’re not quite sure how to do that, just click on the little orange box under “Follow Me” up in the top right corner of this screen.

Wordless Wednesday: Candy Corn Wreath

Remember my post a while back about DIY fall decorating? Well, I finally got around to making the candy corn wreath. It was really easy (and the boys enjoyed eating as much of the candy as they could helping me make it).

Baked Pizza Sandwich Recipe – and Our Menu for the Week!

Menu Plan Monday

Hi everyone! We are recovering from our weekend. It was mostly really nice, and included a fun trip to the pumpkin patch… but yesterday was also a day filled with temper tantrums by J, making it one long day!

So, if you remember my post from last week, I am trying five new recipes from Food on the Table this week, and am sharing them below! If you haven’t checked them out yet, you ought to pop over to their site and blog. They have tons of recipes – and we have liked every recipe we have tried from their site. I meant to get this post up earlier in the day, but hopefully you’ll still have a chance to try some of these recipes for yourself – if not this week, then maybe the next!

I’ll plan to update this post throughout the week with reviews (& hopefully photos, too) of each recipe as we try it – so check back! Now on to the fun part – the recipes! Continue Reading…
