This fall Del Monte Fresh will hold its second annual online contest, “Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms.” The program awards cash and fresh fruit to kindergarten thru 12th grade school teachers across North America to encourage them to incorporate healthy eating and living messages into classroom activities. Sixty teachers will win a total of $1,000 in cash to purchase school supplies and fresh fruit for their students. Top winners will also get a Del Monte Fresh Field Day event for their school in which the entire student body will enjoy a day of Del Monte fresh fruit, games and fun activities. The most influential teacher in one of my sons life was a teacher he had starting at age 3 to age 6. My son was speeched delayed and this teacher was a speech – special ed teacher. He started in our local school system at age 3 and this teacher taught him year round, until he was 6. My son is now 11 and speaks perfectly. He now helps out this same teacher weekly by helping out in some of her preschool classes with kids that shes teaching.

The most influential teacher in our life was our son’s Pre-K teacher. He had her for 2 years & she not only taught him so much, but us as well. He was diagnosed with autism while in our class & she was so helpful with finding us resources. He learned so much & is very prepared for kindergarten.
