How to Feed a Family of Five for Just $20 at Denny’s!

I’m a Denny’s ambassador, and this post is a part of that compensated partnership. All opinions are honest and are my own.

I guess I should clarify my post headline, because this is just one of several ways you could feed your family of five for just $20 at Denny’s… and if you eat on a Kids Eat Free night, you can make your money go even farther! We went for Sunday lunch, and we told our boys we were giving ourselves a challenge for the meal to make the budget of just $20. They had a blast helping us figure out various ways to spend the $20 (although some of their ideas consisted of just getting 5 Cookies & Cream Mega Sundaes).

Here’s the skinny: we decided to order from the $2 $4 $6 $8 menu because there are a ton of options and you can get a lot of bang for your buck! Here were our options:

Here’s what we got:

Brian: Everyday Value Slam – $4

J: Stack of Pancakes – $2 (I also gave him one piece of bacon from my meal)

C: Everday Value Slam – $4 (and, okay, we did end up going $1 over because we let C & E order grapes off the kids’ menu to share. They love grapes, what can I say?)

Me & E: Shared the Blueberry Muffin Pancakes Meal – $6

Dessert for us all: Cookies & Cream Mega Sundae – $4

As you can see, it’s incredibly easy to eat out at Denny’s with a larger family and still keep it affordable. We spend more than $20 eating fast food as a family, so this total was so impressive for us. And like I mentioned above – if we go on one of our location’s two free kids meal nights it’s an even bigger bargain. Delicious food, great service, and value pricing – what’s not to love?

Some other $20 combo ideas:

  • $4 All You Can Eat Pancakes
  • $6 Baja Quesadilla Burger
  • Two $4 Everyday Value Slam Meals (Share between three kids)
  • $2 Strawberry Pancake Puppies Sundae

  • $8 Grand Slam Slugger (One parent share with a child)
  • $6 Southwest Turkey Sandwich with Cup of Soup
  • $4 Biscuit & Gravy Breakfast
  • $2 French Toast

  • Two $2 Cheese Quesadillas
  • $8 Chicken Loaded Potato Skillet
  • Two $4 Everyday Value Slams

There are not many places you can say you fed a family of 5 for only $20. I had no idea Denny’s had a 2,4, 6, 8 menu. What a great idea!

My kids were just saying that we haven’t been to Denny’s for awhile. I haven’t been since they started the 2,4,6,8 menu. Maybe this week while hubby is out of town is a good time to go :)

You have showed us a great way to save and feed a family of 5 for $20. Unfortunately I do not have a Denny’s near us.

It’s hard these days to feed a family of 5 for under $20, me and my bestie when we go out it’s guaranteed £50 spend on food and drinks. Dennys seem to be offering something for everyone

This is awesome! We usually make Denny’s our eat out place of choice when we are traveling, but I had no idea they had a kids eat free night! We’ll have to take advantage of that!

This is my type of post! I love eating out but HATE the price tag that comes with it because we have 5 in our family, too :) I see a family date to Denny’s in our near future…

I could do breakfast all day every day. This menu looks amazing. I’d like one of each please.

This is so great. We are a family of 8 and would love to head over to Dennys. I haven’t been in years. I would love to head on over for lunch and at this price? Who wouldnt!

First, I am hungry now, and second, what an awesome idea! I have seen that menu, but we rarely have the time to sit down, but with choices like that, I might make the time this weekend. Plus, it will be the first weekend of the school year, so I might make it a treat for making it through the first week back :)

One of my friends has a January birthday. So does her husband and two kids. She has a joint birthday party at Denny’s. It’s great. The food is good and everyone gets what they want.

I don’t think we have a Denny’s close by, but this is really good budgeting for a family!

And always ask for specials. Some servers won’t offer them. Love these special $$ menus.

We LOVE Denny’s! They have such great food and also are so affordable. We haven’t been there in a while though since we live much further from one now.
