Motorola Digital Monitor Keeps You Connected Near & Far

I received an MBP853CONNECT2 monitor to facilitate this review. All opinions are honest and are my own.

Before I had kids, I had no idea how wonderful monitors are. Before I had to literally crawl out of my son’s nursery to avoid waking him up after checking on him, I didn’t realize how nice it would be to have a way to check in on your baby from the other room.

Now our kids are 8, 6, and 3 – and I still use the monitor to check on them! So, since I fully appreciate the need for a good monitor, I knew my sister-in-law Lauren would need one. The Motorola MBP853CONNECT2 has all sorts of features that parents will love.

The monitor retails for $309.00 and comes with:

  • 3.5″ Color LCD screen parent unit
  • 2 Cameras (audio/video/Wi-Fi)
  • Power adapter x 3 (parent and camera units)
  • Rechargeable battery pack (parent unit)
  • User’s Guide
  • Quick Start Guide

In case you’re wondering if it’s really necessary to have two cameras, I’d recommend going for it. For one thing, it doesn’t cost much more to go with two versus one. When your baby is little, having two cameras means you can either get two angles of the nursery – or you can have one camera in the nursery and another focused on a different napping area in the house (like a bassinet in your bedroom, for instance). Later, as you have a second child, you’ll be glad you have two cameras so you can check on each in their own room.

The monitor goes beyond just what comes in the box, though. It works with the free Hubble app and is a quick and easy setup. Just unpack the two video cameras, plug it in and download the free Hubble app on your mobile device. Follow the simple in-app setup instructions and you’ll be ready to monitor from your smart phone in just moments.

Stay connected with live video streaming and up-to-date smart notifications wherever you are. Stream real time free HD (720p) video (with sound) of your home to stay informed of what’s going on. You can also record straight to your device with the push of a button via the free in-app video recording and image snapshot features. This means the monitor can also serve as a home security device when you’re away from the house.

Add Hubble’s optional Cloud Video Recording (CVR) service to capture all the action on video as it unfolds in your home. The video is stored securely in the cloud, which you can access at any time on your smartphone, tablet or computer, wherever you are. Simply choose between one, seven, or thirty days of motion-triggered recorded video.

You can find the Motorola MBP853CONNECT-2 in many stores nationwide, and on Amazon.
