My sister-in-law Lauren (might as well be sister) is pregnant with her first baby, and I am almost as excited for her as I was for my own pregnancies. I can’t wait to see her be a mom (she’ll be amazing) and I’m ready to hold my niece or nephew!
Lauren’s due in November, so as that time gets closer and closer, being stocked up on baby gear is more and more on her mind. I started thinking about what all I was glad to have on hand when each of my kids were babies, and wanted to help get her and my brother-in-law all set for their new arrival. I headed over to our local Sam’s Club, because I knew it’d be a great one-stop location to find all sorts of must-haves for babies at cost-efficient prices.
First of all: diapers and wipes. Parents, you know how rapidly you use these, so it’s crucial to have a sizeable stockpile! Sam’s has huge boxes, so I grabbed some Pampers Swaddlers and Sensitive Wipes for Lauren to have ready when she comes home from the hospital.
And if you noticed, I got instant savings on the diapers, making them an even better deal than they already were. And I got 808 wipes for less than $20. Gotta love bargains like that!
Next I thought about other necessities, and snagged her some Desitin & Aveeno bath products. We used both of these a ton with our kiddos! You can see I got instant savings on the Aveeno value pack – just another example of why I love shopping at Sam’s Club for baby items. Budget-friendly is crucial when you’ve got a new baby in the picture!
Sam’s Club also has lots of adorable baby clothes – since Lauren is waiting to find out whether she’s having a boy or girl, I got her two outfits and she can donate or re-gift the one she doesn’t use. It was really hard to decide!
These two were contenders:
Look at the savings you get when shopping for baby clothes at Sam’s Club. Name brands at significantly reduced prices:
Once we got clothes for the baby, it reminded me that she’d also need some Dreft detergent – I loved washing all my kids’ newborn clothes in this to have them ready when we came home from the hospital. I wanted nice, clean clothes that wouldn’t bother newborns’ sensitive skin. So we grabbed a big bottle of Dreft that will last through many loads of laundry – 110, to be exact.
There are lots of fun toys and books available at Sam’s Club, too:
We ended up getting this Smart Shots Sports Center – it’s too cute, and I love that it combines sports/activity and learning.
There are so many other things Sam’s Club offers as well – everything from formula to sippy cups to baby monitors:
Whatever you decide to get, you can really stretch your dollar by shopping at Sam’s Club. We had a budget of $150 to spend, and look at all we got:
