Note: I received two SOL Republic products to thank me for hosting the giveaway. I was not compensated monetarily for this post, and all opinions are honest and my own.
Music is an amazing thing. A song can lift you up, inspire, and motivate you. Last year I did Couch to 5K and music definitely helped carry me through some of the tough, long patches of running.
Music can also comfort you – my dad passed away last year and my mom has found great solace in praise songs. Music can remind you of great times or certain people.
I think we can all agree that music is an important part of our lives, and each of us probably have a story about how music has influenced us in one way or another.
SOL Republic recognizes the value of music and so they’ve come up with a really fun promotion called Music Made Me Do It.
And guess what? I get to host a giveaway to help celebrate it!
See all the items in the photo above? They could all be yours. Yours to keep and enjoy the power of music through, or yours to gift to friends and family. I think you’d be the most popular person on the block if you gave someone a speaker or headphones from SOL Republic. The prize pack is valued at over $700 and includes:
- 1 SOL REPUBLIC Deck speaker ($149.99)
- 1 SOL REPUBLIC Punk speaker ($69.99)

#MMMDI My music story started when I began exercising due to great music being played at a class I was attending. I liked the music selection so much, I stayed with the program. And now, 5 years later, II ams toill hooked on the music.
#MMMDI Music has helped me loose weight while exercising and listening to music. Music made the time I spend exercising fun and it also helps me relieve stress.
#MMMDI Music has made me fall in love…my hubby and I meet in band. We’ve been together ever since. Other than that I love listening to music while i exercise. Or just cleaning around the house.
Music made me dance! I’ve been sedentary far too long so, last year, I decided whenever I heard a song I liked, I’d get up and dance! Best decision I’ve made all year!
#MMMD In one year, I went to well over 50 concerts and music festivals!
#MMMDI It has made exercise tolerable. I can listen to music when I work out and I workout longer.
i cant live without music.. all the long drives would be intolerable.. the hours spent on the elliptical… the hundred of laps in the pool… couldnt do any of those things without an awesome soundtrack!
oops! #MMMDI i forgot the hashtag!
#MMMDI back in the late eighties, the song “takin care of business” had a dance tied to it called the alligator. You clapped, clapped on your thighs, then clapped on the ground. then rolled on the ground. Well, I was doing this dance at my own wedding, in my wedding dress. Music made me do it!
#MMMDI Music inspired me to get out of the house and train for a marathon!!
Spilt Needles by the Shins led me to seek help for my depression #MMMDI
#MMMDI Music is what gets me through my day. I have a radio in my office that I listen to all day at work. And once in a while I even shake it a little when no one is looking. The on my way home and to my way to work I am listening to the radio for that extra umphf.
#MMMDI Music helped me/made me give birth to my sons. Music in the delivery room was so helpful.
I have met MANY bands and been to hundreds of concerts I love music! #MMMDI
#MMMDI yep, that one fateful day, taking a shower and jamming out, love it. Well, apparently I had gotten really into whatever song was on and decided to boogie down a little…a little too much. Slipped, fell, and bonked by head. Luckily, no concussion or anything major, just a splitting headache and a bump.
Music made me clean the house! crazy! #MMMDI
#MMMDI Music touches my heart so much, that it makes me want to write poetry!

It helps on long trips and keeps me focused at work.
I am a introvert who keeps to myself and am always keeping myself contained. When I’m on stage though, I let go and usually set myself free, which often results in me doing things that I don’t remember or intend on doing. It’s often a very liberating feeling. Once I may have moved my hips a little more in a way that I did not intend, and a couple of people mentioned it later to me on, so in every since of the phrase, Music Made Me Do It. #MMMDI
My now husband and I were a new couple and had gone to a local bar that had a live band. he never dances…but the music was so good he grabbed me and we tore up the dance floor! defiantly a music made me do it moment for both of us! #MMMDI
My last tattoo was from one of my favorite bands, The Misfits. #MMMDI
I met my husband at a dance where they had a band and music. He asked me to dance and then we dated for a couple of years before he asked me to marry him. That was a long time ago and I still love listening to music. Thanks for having this contest.
I couldn’t think of a name I wanted to give my daughter when I was expecting. Every name my husband and I heard or found we didn’t want to name her. Then I heard a song, and it said a girl’s name that I loved. I talked to her dad and that’s what we named her when she was born. Music made me do it. #MMDI
Music made me give this one persistent guy a chance, even though I’d sworn off love. Sixteen years later, we are celebrating Christmas with our fourteen year old daughter. Gotta love music.
