This post is part of a compensated campaign with Purina, who is also providing the prizes for giveaway. All opinions are honest and are my own.
If you saw some of my posts last week, you know that our dogs are a big part of our family; we had fun celebrating them for National Dog Week, but that doesn’t have to end just because the week is over! We want to keep letting our dogs know we love them with plenty of attention, plenty of petting, plenty of play, and plenty of treats!
If you don’t remember, we have two pups in our family:
Sally is 4, and is an 80-pound labrador/golden retriever mix. She is a mouth breather, so you always know when she’s nearby… and she loves to be near us so we almost always hear her panting. :) She is incredibly sweet and she thinks she’s a lap dog.
Ninja just turned 1 in April, and he’s a yorkie/schnauzer mix. He is only about 12 pounds, and I’m betting 2 pounds of that is fur – he’s our little mop! He also likes to be right where we are all the time, unless he’s wrestling with Sally (because while she thinks she’s a lap dog, he clearly thinks he’s an 80-pound lab).
While our dogs couldn’t look any more different from one another, they’re the best of friends (I guess opposites attract?) and they play together all the time. It really is as if he’s the little brother who thinks his big sister is so cool and so he wants to be around her all the time. But since he’s the little brother, he has to also bug her and beg her to play with him.
One thing the dogs definitely have in common is their love of the Purina Waggin’ Train Chicken Jerky treats. I pulled out the chicken jerky curls for them to try the other day, and Sally practically climbed up on to the dining table (which she doesn’t even do for PEANUT BUTTER, friends – that’s saying something!).
I’m pretty excited that I get to offer THREE winners a set of your own Waggin’ Train treats! Each of the three winners will receive:
- Waggin’ Train Chicken Jerky Minis–Made using real white meat chicken, with just two simple ingredients and sliced into fun-sized pieces. No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives are added.
- Waggin’ Train Homestyle Chicken Jerky Tenders–Made with real chicken that is slow cooked and then covered in little jerky bits of chicken to make it both crunchy and chewy. Made with just two simple ingredients, this product has no artificial colors, flavors, or ingredients.
- Waggin’ Train Chicken Jerky Curls–These 100% real treats are made with just two simple ingredients and are twisted into fun shapes that you can toss and flip ’til your dog’s heart is content. The product has no artificial flavors or preservatives.

We have 4 dogs, two that live with us and two that live in other homes (but we still consider them ours).
The dogs that live with us are Tony (a beagle/jack mix). My mother lived next door to his owner and Tony lived in a tiny cage outside. She asked his old owner if she could have him and right then and there, his old owner handed Tony to her over the fence. He’s become an amazing dog. So friendly and sweet and well behaved.
Mathilda was also a rescue dog. They claimed that she was a ‘mini malamute’ (whatever that is) in her ad, but we think she’s possibly part corgi and jack. We always tease her that she has an eating disorder because she is constantly on the hunt for food. She’s totally a trash dog. She also gives AMAZING hugs where she’ll nuzzle your neck and put her legs around your neck.
The dogs that don’t live with us are an all white frenchie/chi (Short Stack Sanchez) that showed up at our duplex and just sat at someones house for 3 days. We have a feeling that someone dumped him that knew one of our neighbors. On the 3rd day I decided to go catch him (which wasn’t easy..was bitten a couple times). He was very afraid of every male initially, but now he’s warmed up and starting to trust men. My step-dad adopted him and he has a wonderful farm life now. He visits often.
The last dog’s name is LaFawnduh (after the Napoleon Dynamite character). I was a delivery driver for a floral business and when out one day found her running on the side of the road. I caught her and stuck her in my delivery van. She’s around 14 now and we think she’s a lab/dalmatian mix. She is absolutely the sweetest dog in the world. My dad adopted her and she lives on 50 acres up in the hills of Northern California now. She has deer as friends! She also loved the wild turkeys that are on the property.
We’re so lucky to have found such wonderful dogs and been able to give them homes where people love them and they can live peaceful lives.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to win!
My dogs name is Squirt. And I love him because he teaches me something every day. He is a lover, who is smart and respectful! He opened my eyes to a whole new world! Love him!!

I have 3 dogs. One is Zeus, Rusty and Pru. What I love best about all of them is their loving hearts and how much happiness and love they bring into my life everyday. I don’t know what I would do without them.
